1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using BiteBuddy, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use BiteBuddy. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. The BiteBuddy service
BiteBuddy lets users log food, track calorie and macro progress, invite friends, and compete in daily and weekly Battles. Some features may include moderated community content, support interactions, optional rewarded advertisements, or brief interstitial advertisements after AI plate logs and every other successfully logged matched barcode. Features can change, pause, or be discontinued for safety, maintenance, legal, or product reasons.
4. Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and use BiteBuddy safely. You may not cheat, manipulate scores, spoof devices, farm referrals or rewards, use bots, bypass restrictions, scrape the service, or reverse engineer protected systems.
5. Health disclaimer
BiteBuddy is not a medical application and does not provide medical, dietary, diagnostic, or treatment advice. Calorie, macro, and AI-generated food values are estimates. Consult a qualified professional for medical or nutrition decisions.
6. Food photos and AI estimates
Food photos are used only when you request recognition. BiteBuddy removes image metadata and does not retain the original image after inference. Estimates remain editable and should be reviewed before logging. Additional details appear in the AI Meal Scan Consent Disclosure.
7. Prohibited conduct
- Harassing, threatening, or repeatedly targeting another user.
- Promoting starvation, purging, eating disorders, self-harm, or dangerous health behavior.
- Submitting illegal, hateful, abusive, exploitative, or infringing content.
- Sending repeated unwanted invitations or misusing reporting and support systems.
- Cheating, automating, exploiting, or interfering with BiteBuddy.
The Community Guidelines provide additional detail.
8. Enforcement and termination
BiteBuddy may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these terms, threaten safety, or compromise service integrity. Users may use available appeal procedures for eligible moderation decisions.
9. Account deletion
You may request deletion in the app under Profile → Account & Privacy or through the web deletion flow. Limited records may be retained where necessary for legal, fraud, safety, or transaction-integrity obligations.
10. Availability and limitation of liability
BiteBuddy is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or perfect estimates and are not responsible for health decisions made from estimates, misuse of the service, or losses caused by events outside our reasonable control.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as BiteBuddy evolves. Continued use after an effective update means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law. Questions may be sent to support@bitebuddyapp.online.
